Activism

Conservatives have gone to activism.

Let’s try to understand the concept of activism.  It is not standing in a crowd with a political sign….

Well, that might be part of it.

Activism is not watching television.  In most cases, it isn’t sitting around playing on the internet.

Think of it this way.  There’s a politician who is local, or who is part of your state legislature, or your Congressman or Senator.  He’s diametrically opposed to what you believe in.

Activism is confronting this individual in person, and informing him that he will correct a questionable voting pattern, politely and with sincerity.  It is thereafter, following through on that committment, with a thoughtout plan to remove the person from office.

Some of the Congressmen did listen to their constituents about health care during the summer of 2009, and did vote against it.  Some heard and listened.  Some did not hear, did not listen.

Activism is a focus on that individual, and on getting him out and replaced with someone who is more suitable.  If the districts are gerrymandered such that this is impossible between the parties, it may mean running on the same primary.

If the individual cannot be  dislodged at present, then activism means intelligently moving to a target of opportunity which can be overthrown.
