Removable Bumper Stickers (Do it yourself)
Did you know that office supply stores such as Office Depot sells supplies to make your own bumper stickers? Did you know there were magnetic bumper sticker sheets that are ink jet compatible?
Keep your message short, pick a good color scheme, and try to link for more info (hehehe….bestofbeck.com would be our suggestion). Keep the message positive – people have enough negativity barraging them. Make the message say it – but uplift their day a bit.
Here is a pretty fine description of how to do it in your home with a regular printer – yes, I do like and use Firefox. Use Avery 3383 Sticker Project Paper or Avery 3270 Magnet sheets. Also suggested are the 5265 and 5165 products. These are letter size and produce two or four stickers per sheet.
There are “bumper sticker maker” software packages available. Don’t buy them! There is no need for anything like that. Just use a graphics package for the PC and your ink jet or color laser printer.
Easy on Easy off Bumper Stickers?
Magnetic sheets are interesting. A lot of bumpers are plastic these days, so a magnetic would go on the back of the car, but not the bumper. It has the big advantage of not having to be removed with a one hour session with WD40. It could be right immediately above the bumper. That’d sort of still make it a “bumper sticker”.
Magnetic means easy on easy off. And easy replace the graphics. Just slap an adhesive backed regular bumper sticker on the base magnetic layer and bingo, a new sticker for the new events.
To get the sticker rain and weather proof, spray it with a coat of clear acrylic from a spray can. Buy that at either Autozon or Home Depot.
GOT SKILLS?
Some of our readers may have skills with Photostyler or other software. Why not make a couple stickers and upload them? Anyone can print them but few are great artists.
